'Shunning' is an evil practice. But it is an effective weapon for any religious organisation who want to control the people they have in their membership.

We see shunning being practiced in many human relationships. The child who wants something and rejects the parent who won't let them have what they want. A partner in a relationship who withdraws their attention from a partner because they cannot get what they want!

For a Christian church it is an appalling abuse of people and by itself, defines the church organisation as a cult. The consequences of shunning are broken marriages, broken families, damaged people and damaged children.

Take the example of a husband who chooses to leave a church to go to another Christian church. The leadership immediately cuts all contact with that husband. The children are not allowed access to their father. Other relatives of the family will cut the contacts with the husband. The friends of the family will cut all contacts with the husband.

Why does this happen? Simply to enable the ministry of the church to control the people that they still have in the church. It is a practise that defines any organisation that engages in it as a cult! They want to stop other people from choosing to leave because their interest is in the money and the income that that the familiy generates for the leadership!

When we left the church, as a complete family fortunately, even the friends of our young children were not allowed to have contact with them. One can only imagine the damage that this does to young children whichever side of the fence that they are on!

Why do people put up with it? Several reasons. The main one is that they are scared that if they speak out then they themselves will be thrown out of the church and lose their friends and their families. The fear of consequences is an easy way to control people!

reid is responsible for the damage done to many marriages, families and friendships. His enforcement of shunning to control the people in the church, defines him in my views, as an evil man who is prepared to do anything he can to control people for the sake of money!

People throughout the world should realise that any church or religious group that practices shunning is defining itself by this one action alone,as a false, controlling cult!
